What Customers Say About Audio Technica Phono Cartridge:

Ok, I'm a bottom feeder, I admit it. Maybe because it's a smaller size needle and it gets further into the grooves (producing more sound) - I dunno but it's way worth it if your not an audiophile but you still appreciate good sound. The results were very good.

I bought one of these (after reading great reviews) for my old tt with a p-mount for archiving and was very pleased. I was about to take it off the Denon when it occurred to me, if I could change the angle of the adaptor, I could keep it from scraping.A few minutes angling the top on my little belt sander an voila., we're good to go. But I want the best I can get for my money.

Only one problem, the scraping of the cart on the record (mentioned earlier) showed up - bummer. So pleased in fact that I though I'd try it with my new Denon tt (300p). My Denon isn't a p-mount but this cartridge came with an adaptor.

So, I'm waiting on the next one I ordered for my p-mount tt so I can get back to archiving. The only downside on this unit is that there is a little more "groove noise". Maybe some day I'd upgrade but you know, there's a reason I haven't listened to some of my albums in years - they're not all great.

Although I occasionally listen to my classic albums, overall I try to keep them in great shape, so I freaked out when the cartridge initially started touching an album. Nice little kit for someone who needs a new stylus/needle for his turntable. I'm not sure if this is unique to my Technics DL-S2 turntable, but at times the cartridge has a tendency to actually drag on the album unless the arm weight is taken off completely. But, the overall sound quality is acceptable. I guess I can't complain for $19.

Also, the sound quality, even with a fresh stylus, didn't match what was already on the turntable. I bought this cartridge to replace a cartridge in a used Technics turntable I bought. Had the new cartridge off and packaged to send back to Amazon.com within 1/2 hour. Turns out I should have looked harder for a new stylus for THAT cartridge, as this one I put in worked more poorly than the one that was already on the turntable (a higher-level gold Audio-Technica P-Mount cartridge). The record stuck, which hadn't happened before. Amazon was gracious about returning my $$ for this purchase. Thanks, Amazon.

They spun around in the housing. I found setting up the cartridge difficult. Once set up the sound was even and warm to me. Since the stylis is completely under the housing there is little room for error. The included nuts did not fit the housing. Very good for an inexpensive cartridge. I use it for my second turntable (Technics SL B2) that is used for the primary listening in the family before I record an album.

I was very pleased with my purchase. I received exactly what I wanted in less than a week.
